C is for Cheese, C is for a Challenge. After my failed tryst in Boston to find a job (and the bitter aftertaste of being taken for a ride) I have decided to take the next few years as a series of personal challenges.
I have never been able to finish anything on a deadline. I am the kind of person who is happy with the thought that she is involved in something - the end does not really matter. Until it starts weighing me down. Which is exactly what has happened in the last decade that I have tried to lose weight. Skinny was what you could describe me as until I was 12. Then I discovered the joy of dairy products - ghee, butter and my personal favourite, cheese.
It all went downhill (or uphill if you have numbers in mind) after that. I have come a long way since then and my body still processes fat as fat. I still turn green with envy when I see thin girls live on pizza & fried food and look like all they chewed on was grass!
So 2 Masters degrees and a few years of professional life later, here I am ,technically unemployed, turning 27 in a month and totally on a mission. This Summer, as my mom says "make the best use of the god given time", it is time to eat and exercise right.
Taking advantage of my foodie better half not being around I have started eating regular 3 meals a day with more whole grains, vegetabes and an occasional icecream. My wallet short of a hundred dollars for 4 months worth of some serious sweat in the gym, this week has been about low key cardio and light weights.
As for numbers...I ll save that for the next blog post. And as for cheese...my only indulgence this week was some parmesan in a salad. Cheers to a beginning - and a very successful end!
